Alice & Andy’s Wedding Day / South Dalton Hall Wedding Photography

Alice and Andy’s wedding was my first time photographing in the beautiful walled gardens of South Dalton Hall near Beverley in East Yorkshire, and what a fantastic day it was! The ceremony took place at the picturesque village church in South Dalton, and then it was a short drive straight over the estate to the grounds of South Dalton Hall, where the Papakata tipi was waiting to hold the wedding reception and evening partying. Aisling & James’ Wedding Day / The Merchant Adventurers’ Hall Wedding Photography / York Wedding Photographer

James and Aisling’s wedding day was an absolute joy to photograph, an amazing couple and a fun bunch of friends and family too! The day was filled with laughter from start to finish. The wedding took place in my home city of York at The Merchant Adventurers’ Hall in the centre of town, a very popular venue for me and a very stunning one at that! Carman & Kushal’s Wedding Day / Sandburn Hall Wedding Photography / York Wedding Photographer

A stunning wedding day at Sandburn Hall with the fab Carman and Kushal. A very multicultural wedding day with Chinese and Mauritian traditions, it was fantastic to be able to capture all the different moments throughout the day. The guys and girls both got ready at separate houses on Bootham in the city centre in York, I left my second shooter Paul with Kushal and the guys whilst I headed off down the road to join the girls. The whole day from ceremony onwards was at the very popular Sandburn Hall in Flaxton, about 10 miles out of York. It’s Jess and Laurence’s vintage styled wedding at The Hospitium in York’s museum gardens on the blog for you today! I’m a sucker for a tea length wedding dress and a camper van so I loved photographing this wedding day so much, and it was helped immensely by having such a cool, stylish couple who put so much thought into the styling of the wedding day! Rudding Park Wedding Photography / Michelle & Ryan’s Wedding Day / Harrogate Wedding Photographer

A gorgeous spring time wedding at Rudding Park for you on the blog today. Michelle and Ryan had such a fantastic day back in April, the sun was shining and the daffodils were in full bloom, just such a perfect day! It was made all the more special by having an intimate civil ceremony for close family and friends, and then after came the full wedding blessing in the chapel complete with change of outfits into wedding dress and suits. As any wedding photographer in Yorkshire will tell you, Father Ian is an absolute legend and wants each couple to get the best possible photos of the ceremony, even going so far as setting up two shots of the first kiss to get multiple angles! Scampston Hall Wedding Photographer / Gemma & Simon’s Wedding Day / North Yorkshire Wedding Photographer

A relaxed, intimate wedding day at the stunning Scampston Hall on the blog today. I’ve photographed at Scampston Hall about 3 years ago on a bridal fashion shoot, but Gemma and Simon’s wedding was my first at the hall and I was really looking forward to photographing there again. Being in August we were expecting there to be sunshine from start to finish, but sadly with the unpredictability of the English weather we saw just a fleeting glimpse of blue sky all day, and instead we were treated to heavy downpours and high winds! The whole day took place at Scampston, with Gemma getting ready in one of the traditionally decorated bedrooms, and the ceremony taking place in the drawing room. The hall is a 17th century stately home, and has been owned by the Legard family for hundreds of years. It really is one of the most beautiful venues that I’ve been to, the grounds seem to stretch for miles and there are so so many amazing locations to take brides and grooms. I had planned a route to take Gemma and Simon on to make the most of the gardens but minutes before the ceremony the heavens opened and guests that had gathered in the marquee had to hot foot it over to the hall ready for Gemma to make her entrance! Amazingly, after the ceremony the rain blew over and we had exactly 2 hours of dry weather and we took a walk to the walled gardens and then to the Palladian Bridge at the end of the lake. The whole day was such a relaxed and fun wedding to photograph, an ace couple, and very fun families and friends, I’m looking forward to photographing at Scampston Hall again in the new year! I’m very pleased to be a recommended photographer at Scampston Hall, please get in touch if you are looking for a photographer for your wedding there.

Middlethorpe Hall Wedding Photography / Zita & Paddy’s Wedding Day / York Wedding Photographer

I’ve walked, run, and driven by Middlethorpe Hall in York so many times, but before Zita and Paddy’s wedding day I had not had the pleasure of venturing inside. Middlethorpe Hall is one stunning venue inside and out, it sits proudly amongst 20 acres of landscaped gardens on the outskirts of York city centre next to the race course. Built in 1699 as a private manor house, it was renovated in the 80’s and turned into a luxury hotel which is now looked after by the National Trust. The average number of guests at weddings that I photograph are around 70-80. I always do my best to try and photograph as many people as I possibly can but this often isn’t an easy task. Zita and Paddy’s wedding day was a refreshing change for the norm, and my smallest (in guest numbers) of the year. A very intimate day with close family and friends, plus me with a load of kit trying to remain as invisible as possible! The sun shone for us all day long, the atmosphere was laid back and relaxed, and we got the chance to take a few walks through the amazing grounds, and the day was topped off by releasing Chinese lanterns over the sky line of York. I was very pleased when Zita said that Helen Guy would be doing her hair and make up. I’ve  known Helen for a couple of years now but so far I hadn’t had the chance to work with her on a wedding day. The intricacy of Zita’s hair was incredible!
